A HOME DESIGNED TO BE LIVED IN, CELEBRATED, AND SHARED.

HILLCREST PARK, TORONTO

The most memorable homes rarely come together all at once. This Hillcrest Park residence evolved over time, with each space carefully layered to reflect the personality of the family who call it home. Having previously completed a full renovation, the house already possessed beautiful architectural bones, but it lacked the warmth, character, and individuality that transform a well-designed space into one that feels deeply personal.

Our collaboration began with the living spaces, creating interiors that could comfortably embrace every part of family life. The living room needed to shift effortlessly between lively evenings spent entertaining friends and slower afternoons building forts, reading stories, or gathering around the coffee table. In the dining room, the ambition was altogether different—to create a space filled with atmosphere, encouraging guests to linger long after dinner had finished.

“The best homes aren’t designed around rooms—they’re designed around the lives unfolding within them.”

Colour became the thread that quietly connected the home. Rich emerald velvets, textured bouclé, woven natural fibres, custom upholstery, and playful patterns introduce warmth without overwhelming the architecture. In the dining room, a mural became the emotional centrepiece, layered with colour-drenched walls, tailored drapery, and carefully considered details that bring structure to its softness. Together, the spaces feel expressive, welcoming, and wonderfully collected rather than overly coordinated.

Today, the home feels entirely reflective of the family who live there. Elegant enough for entertaining, practical enough for everyday life, and full of thoughtful details that reveal themselves over time, it demonstrates that the most successful interiors are those designed not around perfection, but around the people who inhabit them.

DESIGN NOTES

THE BEST FAMILY HOMES EVOLVE OVER TIME.

The most personal interiors are layered gradually, allowing each room to tell part of a larger story.

COLOUR SHOULD CREATE ATMOSPHERE, NOT DISTRACTION.

Rich tones, tactile materials, and thoughtful restraint bring warmth and personality without overwhelming a space.

BEAUTIFUL DESIGN SHOULD NEVER FEEL PRECIOUS.

Rooms designed for entertaining should feel every bit as welcoming on an ordinary Tuesday evening as they do during a celebration.
